History

SMK Taman Selesa Jaya 2 was established in 2003.The school is named after the neighboring housing area, Taman Selesa Jaya in the Central District of Johor Bahru, Johor Darul Takzim. The school is located about 25 KM from Johor Bahru city center. The address of the school is as follows: SMK Taman Selesa Jaya 2, Jalan Silat Harimau 33, Bandar Selesa Jaya, 81300 Skudai, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia.

This school was built on the site PTD 22944 covering 1.79 square hectares. The tender to construct the school was awarded to the Syarikat Asal Bina Sdn. Bhd. Basic construction work had begun in the 2001 and was expected to be completed in November 2002. But due to unforeseen circumstances, the construction was done on December 9, 2003 and the operations started on January 1, 2004. During the construction period, Mr. Mustafa bin Mastri was appointed as coordinator of the new school. He monitors the construction process so that schools operated as planned, on January 1, 2004.

The cost of the construction was close to RM 11.7 million. In 2004, the school contains 36 classrooms and some special rooms such as a computer lab, a language lab, a music room, and prayer for the benefit of students of this school.

Since the school was established, there were five principals who led the school administration, namely:

In 2004, the Association of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) was established with Mr. Hassan bin Hj Mohd Amin being the first president up until year 2009. The PTA is currently led by Mr Abdul Manaf bin Bejau.

In 2012, the school has taken steps to introduce the Science Stream and Information & Communication Technology (ICT)Stream for students in Secondary 4 (equivalent to Grade 10 in the US) in addition to the Art Stream which was already offered since year 2004.

In line with the development of IT industry in Malaysia, the school had taken initiative to build the Internet Access Center that contains 42 computers and a printer that has access to the School Broadband for the convenience of students in this school.
